Desert Aire isn't governed by an HOA. It's an Owner's Association (DAOA), and the Architectural Committee enforces strict regulations on fencing, landscaping, retaining walls, and property maintenance.

Every fence, deck, retaining wall, and landscaping project requires Architectural Committee approval before you start. Height limits, materials, colors, setbacks, and timelines are all regulated.

Daniel handles the entire approval process. We submit the plot plans, elevation details, and material specs the committee requires. We build to DAOA standards the first time, so you never deal with violations or rework.

DAOA Landscaping Requirements

• 1-year deadline: Landscaping must be completed within 1 year of structure completion (strictly enforced)
• Vegetation preservation: Natural vegetation must be preserved OR replaced with shrubs, lawns, trees
• Gravel and rock: Decorative rock and gravel are permitted
• Elevation verification required: No excavation or topsoil removal without Architectural Committee approval

Retaining Walls and Structures

• Walls over 4 feet: Must meet all state and local building/safety codes
• Finished exterior surface required: Ecology blocks and tall retaining walls must have a maintained, finished appearance
• Safety barriers near common areas: 4-foot barrier required to protect people from drop-offs
• Architectural approval required: All retaining walls need committee approval before construction
